About Gardener’s Sweetheart

‘Gardeners Sweetheart Cherry’ is a very unusual, little heart-shaped cherry tomato developed by a legendary farmer and breeder Will Bonsall of Maine, from a cross made between ‘Gardener’s Delight’ and another plum-shaped tomato. First offered commercially by ‘Fruition Seeds’ in 2014.
Vigorous, indeterminate, regular leaf, very prolific plants loaded with beautiful, glossy-red heart-shaped cherries (0.4-1.8oz/10-50g) born on large trusses (20-25 tomatoes each). They look outstanding on the vine when almost all fruits in the truss are ripe. Good, well-balanced tomato flavors make the fruits an outstanding choice for fresh, healthy snacks or for salads. Good crack resistance, and a very good after-shelf life. Early, about 60-65 days after transplant.
