About Gardener’s Delight (Sugar Lump, Jung’s Sugar Lump, Delice du Jardinier, Benary’s Gartenfreude, Hochzucht)

‘Gardener’s Delight’ is a commercial heirloom from Germany. It was bred by Paul Tellhelm and introduced in the 1950-1951 catalog ‘Samenzucht’ of Erfurt by Ernst Benary Thuringia of Germany as ‘Benary’s Gartenfreude’, Hochzucht. Later offered commercially by ‘Jung Quality Seed’ of Randolph, Wisconsin, USA, in 1960 as ‘Jung’s Sugar Lump’.
