About Fordhook First, Burpee’s

‘Fordhook First, Burpee’s’ is a very old heirloom variety that originated with well-known market growers, ‘S. D. Woodruff and Sons of Hartford’. This variety was introduced in 1894 by the ‘Burpee’ seed company and donated to USDA in 1967 (PI 647509; NSL 27592).
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants produce medium-sized (3-7oz./90-200g), pink, oblate to round, slightly wavy on the shoulders fruits with smooth, meaty flesh. Old-fashioned tomato aroma, good, well-balanced flavors. Midseason.
