About Eva Purple Ball

A vigorous, 1800s heirloom tomato from the Black Forest region of Germany brought to the U.S. by the family of Joseph Bratka of Elmwood Park, New Jersey. Introduced in Seed Savers 1991 Yearbook by Carolyn Male. Delicious, round, 2 to 3-inch, blemish-free, pink-purple fruits. A big producer for me. Purple tomatoes are generally rich in flavor and very popular among tomato gardeners. Try these tomato seeds for a new addition to your tomato garden. A good hot weather tomato variety.

Purchased seeds from Tatiana's several years ago. "Eva Purple Ball" has been the workhorse producer in our Colorado (USA) garden since then. Seedlings start strong, and then plants seem to be able to deal with the challenging weather extremes of our higher altitude. This variety also has proven resistant to many of the blights and other maladies that come around, and stay producing until that dreaded first freeze. Great fruit suited for numerous uses.
