About Elgum’s Red Cherry

‘Elgum’s Red Cherry’ is a Danish heirloom cherry tomato that dates back to the 1880s. Mogen’s Elgum’s grandfather was a professional gardener in Northern Jutland, Denmark, and grew these tomatoes and sold them at the market.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants grow up to about 3 meters tall and produce all season long very good yield of small (0,4oz./10g), shiny, dark red, round cherry tomatoes born on very long, irregular trusses. Early (64 days) and disease-resistant plants seem to be more tolerant to cold weather conditions.
