About Dwarf Walter’s Fancy
‘Dwarf Walter’s Fancy’ is one of the first variegated dwarf-type varieties developed by the members of the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’ from the ‘Acey’ family. Named by Craig LeHoullier for his grandfather, Walter Gibbs who inspired Craig’s love of gardening. Stabilization was the collaborative work of Pete Adland, Tom Martucci, Susan Oliverson, Debra Kennedy, Jared Scoville, Kevin Campbell, Caitlin LeHoullier, and Bill Minkey. This variety was first offered commercially by ‘Victory Seeds’ in 2021.
The potato leaves on this beautiful, dwarf-type plant are both rugose and variegated. High yields of medium to large (5-120z./130-350g), pale yellow, oblate-shaped fruits with intense, balanced, tomatoey flavors. Late season, the first ripe fruits can be harvested for about 90 days after transplant.
