About Dwarf Mahogany
‘Dwarf Mahogany’ was developed by the members of the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’ from a cross made by Patrina Nuske Small between ‘Wilpena F2’ and ‘Cherokee Purple’ and named ‘Plentiful’ family. ‘Dwarf Mahogany’ was selected and named by Lee Newman of North Carolina. Stabilization was the collaborative work of Craig LeHoullier, Susan Oliverson, Ken Jacobs, Patrick Sullivan, and Bill Minkey. This variety was first introduced commercially by Victory Seed in 2016.
Determinate, compact, rugose, and regular leaf plants produce medium to large (5-19oz./150-550g), chocolate-colored, oblate fruits. Juicy yet meaty flesh and sweet, rich, bold flavors. Mid- to late season, about 80-85 days to maturity.
