About Dwarf Galen’s Yellow
‘Dwarf Galen’s Yellow’ was developed by the members of the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’ from a cross made by Ray South between ‘Galina’ and ‘Golden Dwarf Champion’ and named ‘Plucky’ family. ‘Dwarf Galenās Yellow’ was selected by Robin Bort and named after her son. Stabilization was the collaborative work of Craig LeHoullier, Patrina Nuske Small, Susan Oliverson, Melissa Fink, Rebecca Gustafson, Nicole Diana, Linda Pugh, Bill Burke, Justin Sieglaff, Georgie Montoni, Jackie Gadbois, Patricia Hippili, Suzanna Dzejachok, Steve Carey, Amber Schneck, and Nick Bolkowy, with Bill Minkey.
This variety was first introduced commercially by ‘Victory Heirloom Seeds’ in 2019. Rugose, potato leaf, bushy plants produce a very high yield of 1oz./30g, slightly oblate in shape, average one-ounce fruits. Golden-yellow colored fruits have a very good, well-balanced sweet and sour tomato flavor. Early, about 65 days to maturity.
