About Dwarf Black Angus

‘Dwarf Black Angus’ was developed by the members of the ‘Dwarf Tomato Project’ from a cross between ‘Summertime Green’ and ‘Sweet Adelaide’ made by Patrina Nuske Small and named ‘Cheerful’ family in 2013. ‘Dwarf Black Angus’ was selected and named by Craig LeHoullier after his father-in-law, Harry Angus. Stabilization was the collaborative work of Denise Salmon, Dee Sackett, Robin Bort, Susan Oliverson, Bob Franklin, and Bill Minkey. Introduced commercially by Victory Seed Company of Molalla, Oregon, USA, and Tatiana’s TOMATObase in 2018.
Regular and rugose leaf dwarf-type plants are loaded with an excellent yield of 6-12oz./180-350g purple, oblate tomatoes. The fruit has a rich, sweet, and exceptionally complex flavor. Perfect slicer or salad tomato. Midseason, 80 days after transplant.
