About Dr. Neal
Dr. Neal is a very popular and well-known variety, that was found by Bill Ellis in a greenhouse in DuBois, Pennsylvania, USA. Bill Ellis listed this variety in the 1989 SSE Yearbook under the original name ‘Dr. Neal’s’. The ‘s was lost, when this tomato was reoffered in the 1996 SSE Yearbook by other SSE members. Indeterminate, strong and tall regular leaf vines produce beautiful, large (12 – 16 oz.), pink beefsteaks with excellent, sweet taste. Rich, old-fashioned tomato flavor. Midseason, about 80 days from transplant.
