About Dora

‘Dora’ tomato is a stabilized intentional cross made between two exceptional heirlooms: ‘Brandywine’ and ‘Cherokee Purple’ by Keith Mueller of Missouri, USA. From this cross, Keith Mueller developed also three moore outstanding varieties: Gary’O Sena, Liz Birt and Bear Creek. Presented in SSE in 2007 by Susan Anderson of Texas and first introduced commercially by ‘Sand Hill Preservation Center’ in 2009.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants that produce beautiful, large (8-16 oz./220-450g) pink beefsteaks. Green shoulders visible during ripening, disappear when the fruit is fully ripe. Very good, sweet and rich tomato flavor, with slightly smoky aftertaste. Midseason, about 75 days to maturity.
