About Diener

Developed and introduced by Richard Diener of CA in 1917 from a cross between Santa Clara Canner and Trophy. Seeds obtained by Craig Lehoullier from the USDA and shared with Dr. Carolyn Male for grow out. Plants produce decent crops of HUGE, 1-3 lbs., well-shaped, very meaty, crimson-red, oblate beefsteak tomatoes and superbly flavored. A good choice for growing GIANT tomatoes.
