About De Barao Chyornyy (Де Барао Чёрный, De Barao Chyornyi, De Barao Black)
‘De Barao Chyornyy’ is a Russian commercial variety developed from ‘De Barao’ by Russian Agrofirm ‘Gissok’. First introduced in Seed Savers 1997 Yearbook by Glenn Drowns, the owner of ‘Sand Hill Preservation Center’, Iowa, USA.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants, that produce a very good yield of small (about 2-3 oz.), brown-colored plum-shaped fruit with dark, brownish-mahogany, meaty flesh. Very good tomato flavor, sweet and rich taste. Perfect for fresh, but also good for canning. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
