About De Barao Chyornyy (Де Барао Чёрный, De Barao Chyornyi, De Barao Black)

‘De Barao Chyornyy’ is a Russian commercial variety developed from ‘De Barao’ by Russian Agrofirm ‘Gissok’. First introduced in Seed Savers 1997 Yearbook by Glenn Drowns of Iowa, USA, the owner of ‘Sand Hill Preservation Center’. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants, that produce a very good yield of small (about 2-3 oz.), brown-colored plum-shaped fruit with black, meaty flesh. Very good tomato taste, sweet, somewhat smoky, and rich flavors. Perfect for fresh, but also good for canning. About 80 days to maturity.
