About Dark Queen

Dark Queen is a variety that was Introduced in 2016 by American breeder Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, Napa Valley, California, USA. A new variation of beautiful, dark, striped, fruits, reminiscent of both the appearance and taste of another Brad Gates variety – Pink Berkeley Tie-Dye, which, however, comes from another breeding line – Beauty King. Not very tall plants, reaching about 160-180cm, but very prolific, with very good heat tolerance. Medium and large beefsteak type fruits, with a beautiful, dark purple color and dark green stripes, about 7-16oz./200-450g., juicy, but firm and dense, very tasty flesh, sweet-sour, with a slightly earthy, smoky aftertaste. They taste best fresh, in salads, on sandwiches, very beautiful. About 80 days to mature.
