About Cuore Antico di Acqui Terme
‘Cuore Antico di Acqui Terme’ is an outstanding heirloom tomato that originated in Italy and named after the city and comune Acqui Terme in the province of Alessandria, Piedmont, northern Italy. ‘Cuore Antico’ means ‘Ancient Heart ‘ in English.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plants are loaded with beautiful, large (18oz./500 g), irregular-shaped (sometimes like ribbed, elongated hearts, sometimes more pepper-like) tomatoes, that are deep red in color and have a very good, sweet tomato flavor, much better than most paste-type tomatoes. Meaty, dense flesh, and very small seed amount make them outstanding sauce makers. Mid- to late season, about 80-85 days to maturity.
