About Cuban Pepper – Like Black, Kubinskiy Pertsevidnyy, Кубинский Перцевидный, Kubinskiy Chernyy, Кубинский Черный, Korichnevyy Kubinskiy Perets, Коричневый Кубинский Перец
‘Cuban Pepper-Like Black’ is a very unusual and rare amateur tomato variety that – according to the name – is most likely of Cuban origin.
The fruits are large (7-12 oz./ 200-350g), elongated and irregular in shape, pepper-like, dark brown colored outside and inside, with sweet with well-perceived smoky notes. Fruits have thick and meaty walls and are almost devoid of seeds, sometimes with empty hollows. Their unusual flavor makes them the perfect choice for salads and salsas served with grilled and roasted meats. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants are stunning producers and have good disease resistance. Fruits can be stored at room temperature for a few weeks after harvest. Late, about 85-95 days to maturity.
