About Clelia
‘Clelia’ is a beautiful tomato developed in 2014 by Bruno Fournier of France and named after his daughter Clelia. He selected it from the F2 line of the ‘Berkeley Tie Dye’ and ‘Indigo Apple’ cross made by Brad Gates. It is a sister line to ‘Beaussetane’, ‘Ebro’, ‘San Nari’, ‘San Ceri’, ‘Marie Antoinette’, ‘Bandol Blues’, ‘La Cadero’, and ‘Black Beauty’ tomatoes.
Semi-determinate, healthy and prolific vines with regular leaves produce medium (5-7oz./150-200g), round, and slightly flattened to oblate tomatoes that are dark brown colored inside and outside and have dark green stripes that turn golden-metallic when fully ripe. The juicy flesh has a rich flavor and a bold taste that pairs well with spicy goat cheese. Midseason, about 70-75days to maturity.
