About Canestrino Della Garfagnana
‘Canestrino Della Garfagnana’ is an old heirloom tomato that has been grown for over 100 years in the Province of Lucca in the Tuscany region in Italy. The plant produces plenty of large, pear/sack-shaped, red, slightly ribbed on the shoulders tomatoes. Fruit weight varies from 4-11oz./100-300gr. Meaty and firm flesh, small, sometimes empty seed cavities, ideal for drying or stuffing. Rich and bold flavors with good sweetness. Very productive, indeterminate, regular leaf plants, vigorous, and strong with good disease resistance. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
