About Calf’s Heart

‘Calf‘s Heart’ tomato is a beautiful family heirloom from Kentucky. According to Tatiana’s Tomatobase, seeds of this variety were ‘originally obtained by Maria Stenger of Sonora, Kentucky, from an older man in Hardin County, Kentucky. He said his family had been growing them for many years and had always called them Calf’s Heart’*.
Indeterminate (1.5-1.8 meter tall), regular leaf plants with large (11 oz./300g), raspberry-pink colored, elongated hearts. Meaty flesh and very few seeds. Sweet and rich old-fashioned tomato aroma. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
