About Bychiy Lob (Бычий Лоб)
The name means ‘Ox’s Forehead’ in Russian. Russian commercial variety, created by Dederko Vladimir Nikolaevich, Yabrov Alexander Alekseevich, Postnikova Olga Valentinovna. It was included in the Russian State Register in 2005. Introduced commercially in North America by Tatiana’s TOMATObase Seeds in 2014.
Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces early yields of fruit set under diverse weather conditions helps to achieve earlier maturity and higher yields. First fruits ripen very early, and plants continue to produce throughout the season. Large and ribbed red beefsteaks are very juicy, with small seed chambers, 6-12 oz, some with yellow shoulders. Flavor is very good and rich, and gets sweeter later in the season.
