About Burcham’s New Generation
‘Burcham’s New Generation’ is a variety that was saved and selected by Mr. Burcham, who was searching for the largest and tastiest tomatoes. The seed was sent to an SSE member, Norma Vinyard of Sedalia, Missouri, USA, in the late 1980s by Jan Gibson of Chapel-Hill, North Carolina, USA, who received this variety from his friend – Mr. Burcham’s granddaughter. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with a large amount of big (about 10-16 oz.), round pink beefsteaks. Very meaty, dense flesh with small seed locules and very few seeds. Excellent, sweet flavor and full tomato aroma. Late, about 90 days from transplant.
