‘Borgo Cellano’ is a very old Italian heirloom tomato, that said to be grown for almost 500 years in the village of Borgo Celano, a province of Foggia, Italy. Very prolific, indeterminate, but compact (about 150cm tall) plants with regular leaf foliage. Beautiful, small (about 2 oz./50-80g), pear-shaped fruit with pointy ends. Deep red colored cherry fruits have good tomato flavor and very meaty, dense flesh that makes them perfect for canning and cooking, but also for drying. Ripe fruits can be stored even for a few months after picking. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
