About Bordo (Bordeaux)

Large (3-4oz./80-100g), deep purple-colored, irregular-shaped (pear or sack, more or less elongated) fruits have ruffled green shoulders. Good, sweet tomato taste and strong tomato aroma. Dense, meaty flesh makes them perfect for cooking and canning, but they are also great for fresh – in salads, salsas, or on bruschetta, Good for stuffing or drying. Midseason, about 80 days to maturity.
*Under the same name, you can also find black beefsteak-type tomato, that originated in Moldova.
