‘Bolgarskoe Serdtse Krupnoye’ is a variety that originated from Bulgaria. First introduced commercially by ‘Chiliandtomato Seeds’ in 2018. Seeds were brought to Russia from Bulgaria in the late 1970s by Sergey Sorokin. He received this variety from Georgi and Mariyka – Bulgarian family, that hosted him while his journey. Georgi and Mariyka grew this tomato for many years but didn’t know its varietal name. Sergey named this tomato in his own language – ‘Болгарское Сердце Крупное’ (Bolgarskoe Serdtse Krupnoe) – simply because he brought it from Bulgaria. He grew this variety in Russia for about 40 years and shared seeds with friends.
Beautiful, big (400-600g or more), very meaty, red heart-shaped fruit with excellent, rich, good balanced sweet and sour, outstanding taste. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants, very tall and prolific. Midseason, about 80 days from transplant.
