‘Blue Zebra’ is a result of the original cross made by Tom Wagner of Everett, Washington, USA. It wasn’t a single cross, but a whole category of crosses that Tom made in the search for a blue-striped tomato. Seeds of those crosses were offered by Tom’s ‘New World Seeds & Tubers’.
‘Blue Zebra’ fruits are small saladette (about 4oz./100g), round, red, and have green stripes and strong anthocyanin expression on the sun-exposed part. Good, sweet, and mild tomato flavors. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants with good yield. Midseason, about 78 days to maturity.
