‘Blue Green Zebra’ is a beautiful green when ripe saladette from Tom Wagner of Everett, Washington, USA. It is the result of a cross made between ‘Green Zebra’ and another anthocyanin variety.
Indeterminate, but compact plants (1.6m tall) with regular leaf foliage and good disease resistance. Small (about 4oz./100g), round green when ripe fruits with beautiful striping and strong antho splash on the sun-exposed part of the fruit. Excellent taste, reminiscent of sweet yellow kiwi fruit, but not too sweet, with nice acidic tones. Very juicy and full of aroma. Mid-season, the first ripe fruit can be harvested about 65-70 days after transplant.
