About Bellstar

Developed at the Smithfield Experiment Farm, Ontario, Canada by Dr. Jack Metcalf. A favorite early plum variety for short-season regions. Determinate, regular leaf, compact plant produces a concentrated early set of 4 oz., square-round, red fruits that are jointless (pick without stems) and easy to harvest. Thick skin, few seeds. A good paster and shipper. Holds up well in the field.
