About Belle Bacchante
‘Belle Bacchante’ was created by Tom Wagner of Everett, Washington, USA. Tom donated the seeds to the Château de la Bourdaisière, which is located in Montlouis sur Loire, France*. ‘Belle Bacchante’ is an indeterminate but compact (about 1,5m tall), regular leaf plant produces a very good yield of round (0.3oz./9g), pink with dark anthocyanins shoulders cherry tomatoes with a good taste and a pleasant aroma. Good disease resistance. Midseason, about 75 days to maturity.
*The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens, in which vegetable gardens are a very important place, where large amounts of various varieties of tomatoes are grown. In the 55-hectare wooded park, they have the National Conservatory of the Tomato approved by the CCVS (Conservatory of Specialised Plant Collections) which unites more than 700 old varieties of tomatoes. Every fall, the castle hosts the ‘Festival of Tomato and Flavors’, which attracts crowds of visitors and tomato enthusiasts. They are invited to discover a new way of cooking, tasting, and admiring this wonderful fruit.
