About Banana Legs
Bred by Tom Wagner, a breeder from Washington state. First offered commercially in 1984. SSE members, Mark Reusser from Ailsa Craig, Ontario, Canada, named Banana Legs and first offered in the SSE 1988 Yearbook. Large determinate plants with wispy regular-leaf foliage. A very prolific and long season tomato plant producing 3-4-inch long, bright yellow, meaty, sausage-shaped tomatoes with light banana-colored striping and a slight nipple on the end. Sweet fruity flavors with a touch of citrus to the finish. Great for slicing into salads. Good sauce tomato.
