About Aunt Ruby’s German Green Cherry
‘Aunt Ruby’s German Green Cherry’ is an off-type, mutation or natural cross of ‘Aunt Ruby’s German Green’, big-fruited green when ripe tomato from Germany. First listed at SSE in 2004 and offered commercially by ‘Fedco Seeds’. Indeterminate, tall and regular leaf plants produce big cherry-sized (about 1-2 oz), green when ripe tomatoes. Clear epidermis and green flesh, sometimes with pink blush on the blossom end when fully ripe and smooth, darker green shoulders. Fruit are round, sometimes slightly oblate and have very good, sweet tomato taste. Many growers noticed, that this is the best tasting green when ripe cherry tomato, they ever grew. A little bit later than other cherries, but definitely worth to wait a bit longer for them. Mid-seson, about 80 days from transplant.
