About Atomic-Sunset
‘Atomic-Sunset’ was developed from a cross made by Brad Gates of Wild Boar Farms, Napa Valley, California, USA, between one of his most famous lines – ‘Brad’s Atomic Grape’ and ‘Orange Roma’ tomato. Large (1-2oz./30-50g) cherry tomatoes, oval or plum-shaped, orange/yellow with anthocyanin shoulders and irregular stripes. Very tasty, sweet and fruity, orange flesh, sometimes with red marbling. Fruits have a very good shelf life, this is what Wild Boar Farms writes about this trait of ‘Atomic-Sunset’ tomato: “This strain can hang on the vine for weeks at a time while fully ripened, making it one of the hardiest tomatoes we’ve ever seen. In addition to its hangtime, it can also last for several weeks even after being harvested while kept at room temperature”*. Indeterminate (4-6 ft. tall), regular leaf plants with excellent production. Midseason, about 65days after the transplant.
