About Ararat Flame
Originated from Germany. (Ararat Geflammte in German.) Variety traced to Debrecen, Hungary, & possibly from Armenia near Mount Ararat before that. Originally sourced from Gerhard Bohl, who said that “it grows at the foot of the mountain.” The mountain being Mount Ararat. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces heavy yields of medium-sized, deep-red, (with slight hint of orange highlights) oblate fruit with slight ribbing (similar to marmande, but with less ribbing). Great rich tomato flavor.
