About Angora Super Sweet (Velvet Red)

‘Angora Super Sweet’ A.K.A. ‘Velvet Red’ was developed by Joe Bratka, New Jersey, USA, who sent the seed to Carolyn Male of Latham, New York in 1996 as ‘Velvet Red’. This beautiful ornamental tomato is fuzzy like a peach, an interesting botanical oddity known at pubescence. Indeterminate, regular-leaf plants with a fuzzy, blue-gray “fur” on the leaves. Plant yields an abundance of 1-inch, red, super-sweet cherry tomatoes that also have a slight silvery fuzz on them which causes the red to appear less than red. A spectacular, rare tomato. This is a great selection for a patio garden. Midseason, about 75 days to mature.
