About Alsu (Алсу)

‘Alsu’ is a Russian commercial variety, that was created in 2007 as a result of the joint work of breeders from Novosibirsk: Dederko Vladimir Nikolaevich and Postnikova Tatyana Nikolaevna. Variety was registered in the ‘Russian State Register’ in 2008. Introduced commercially by one of the biggest Russian seed companies, ‘Sibirskiy Sad’. Determinate, bushy plants, grow up to about 35-40 inches tall (80-100 cm) in open ground and 40-60″ (1 to 1.5 m) in the greenhouse and because of thin vines, their productivity and size of the beautiful, heart-shaped fruit (which can reach about 12-18 oz.) needs good support. Red, meaty and juicy flesh with very good tomato flavor. Perfect for fresh eating, cooking, and canning. Midseason, about 75-80 days to maturity.
