About Al-Kuffa

An Iraqi variety. Tree-type. ‘Al-Kuffa’ is a prized variety that was shared by Aziz Nael, from Iraq, with Baker Creek Seed Company. Nael reported that it was a popular variety for growing in cooler greenhouses in hot, Southern Iraq for late spring, early summer markets. It was also grown outdoors in the cooler north. In 2009 Baker Creek Seed Company commercially introduced it to the marketplace. Indeterminate, dwarf, compact, regular rugose-leaf plant produces moderate to heavy yields of 3-4 oz., small, red, globe-shaped tomatoes that have full, well-balanced flavors. Produces up into frost. Well suited for container planting.
