Spencer sees food as a fertile medium for creating community. He grew up watching Jacques Pepin and Julia Child on TV, fueling a lifelong love of food. Spencer earned a graduate degree in biology studying in a honeybee lab. In addition to creating pop-up restaurants, developing ice cream flavors, and showcasing seasonal produce, his other passion is gardening. His California Bay Area (USA) garden features tromboncino squash, 38 varieties of tomatoes, rocoto peppers from the Andes Mountains, and citrus. When not working, cooking, or gardening, he is hanging with friends and family, throwing ceramics, fishing, or binge watching a new series on Netflix. As a World Tomato Society Influencer, his mission is inspiring passion in food, seasonal produce, and community.
