Tomatoes are loaded with good things! One cup of fresh tomatoes can supply over 30 percent of your daily vitamin C and 25 percent of your vitamin A. They also contain lycopene, potassium, and more. But all tomatoes are not created equal; in a study we did, we found a ripe Black Krim tomato had more than three times as much lycopene as a store-bought red hybrid variety, as well as nearly three times as much vitamin A. Green-fruited tomatoes even have chlorophyll. Darker-fruited varieties tend to have more nutrition in almost every case.
