Digger Bees

Presenting digger bees pollinating the wild tomato species Solanum peruvianum.

The only time I have seen this species of bee is on flowers of the highly promiscuous wild tomato species. Planting wild tomatoes, with their huge attractive flowers, could be an important conservation strategy for this species of bee.
